The governments of Canada and Ontario have contributed over 4-million dollars towards providing affordable housing in Timmins-James Bay. The money is part of the Investment in Affordable Housing plan.
The Timmins Native Friendship Centre received 3-million for the creation of 18 housing units.
392-thousand was given towards 6 units for survivors of domestic violence will be built in Schumacher.
300-thousand goes to 6 units on Spruce south in Timmins.
Lang street housing project got 300-thousand for 3 units.
446-thousand was given for 9 units in Cochrane on Grenier Road.
Minister of Families Parliamentary Secretary Adam Vaughn and Ontario Housing Minister Chris Ballard were in Timmins to make the announcement.
