NORTHERN COLLEGE GETS NEW COMPLEX

Charlie Angus is pleased Northern College in South Porcupine is now able to move forward on a new Integrated Emergency Services Complex. Today, the federal and provincial governments presented 11-million dollars towards the project.


Angus says he was pleased to be able to assist the college. "I have had a great relationship with Fred Gibbons. The president and I have had many conversations over the years and it's always nice when a project comes to fruitiuon."


The complex will house training labs and garages, simulation rooms for specialized training, and video conference technology.


The federal government gave 5.5-million dollars while the provincial government also contributed 5.5-million. Northern College provided the additional 700-thousand dollars.


The complex is expected to be complete in 2018.
